RivALZ Columbus is an annual charity flag football game where two teams of women face off to inspire action, awareness and fundraising in the fight against Alzheimer's disease. All funds raised go directly to the research, support and efforts of the Alzheimer's Association, Central Ohio chapter. The Young Professional group affiliated with the Central Ohio Alzheimer's Association, the Junior Committee, plans RivALZ as their signature fundraising initiative each year.

In our ninth year, RivALZ Columbus continues to engage the community, raising over $217,083 to date. Our dedicated players, coaches, and volunteers are working hard to continue this momentum, making our 2018 game bigger and better than ever. Want to cheer on the crowd? Donate to one of our players and you will receive admission to the game!
We are quickly approaching the the 2018 game. Please join us for our monthly meetings, the third Wednesday at 7PM at the Alzheimer's Association to learn more about each committee and join one yourself! View our committee at-a-glance, flow chart and role descriptions. We are looking for talented, driven individuals to help make 2018 the biggest year yet!

Anyone can get involved, no matter your level of ability. RivALZ recruits players, super fans, coaches and anyone interested in serving on planning committees. All are welcome!
This is one of our most important roles because without players and coaches there is no RivALZ game. Expectations are:
Players (open to females, NO experience needed) –
Must register with RivALZ ($25 registration fee counts towards your fundraising total and covers cost of jersey)
Only 40 spots per team available
Must raise a minimum of $500 by June 23 to play on Game Day, all monies raised count toward game day total
Must attend at least four of eight practices between April and Game Day
Must attend one of two training camps
Must attend the Orientation
Collect one basket item (valued at $25-$50) to be used in Raffle/Auction at a RivALZ event
Attend events to help promote game day and raise funds/awareness for the Alzheimer’s Association
Serve as ambassador for Alzheimer’s Association in the Columbus, OH community
Must be 21+ to register
Coaches (open to males/females) –
Must register with RivALZ ($25 registration fee counts towards your fundraising total)
Must raise a minimum of $500 by June 23 to play on Game Day, all monies raised count toward game day total

Must attend the Orientation
Coaching experience preferred for Defense/Offense Coordinator positions
Conduct a safe, fun, positive & productive practice for players
Make sure players are mentally and physically prepared for game day
Attend events to help promote game day and raise funds/awareness for the Alzheimer’s Association
Serve as ambassador for Alzheimer’s Association in the Columbus, OH Community
Must be 21+ to register
Committee Member (open to ANYONE, NON-Players) –
RivALZ Columbus has several subcommittees that are critical to the success of the event. Some of the subcommittees that currently need help are Sponsorships, Fundraising, Recruitment and Marketing. These committees usually meet once a month and allow you a hands-on opportunity to get involved. Expectations are:

This is for anyone interested being on a RivALZ Columbus team that does not want to play on Game Day.
No limit on number of ALZ Warriors Members
Must register with RivALZ ($0 registration fee & you set your own fundraising goal – suggested $50 minimum)
Attend events to help promote game day and raise funds/awareness for the Alzheimer’s Association
Raise money through donations, in-kind donations, sponsorships, etc.
Serve as ambassador for Alzheimer’s Association in Columbus, OH community
ALZ Warriors Members receive a ticket for Game Day and After Party 2018
Volunteer on Game Day: (one-time commitment)
If you are not interested in playing but still want to get involved, be a volunteer on game day. Game day would not run smoothly without people generously donating their time. About a month out from game day our Logistics subcommittee will send out an email asking interested volunteers to sign up for specific positions.
